
Terry Morris
For over 30 years, Terry has helped business owners, executives, and multi-generational families navigate life’s most important financial decisions. He believes that successful wealth management is about more than investments, it’s about creating a thoughtful, coordinated strategy that helps clients build confidence in their financial future.
Terry specializes in retirement income planning, tax-aware investment management, and wealth strategies designed for individuals and families with complex financial needs. Working closely with clients and their other trusted professionals, including CPAs and attorneys, he helps develop personalized plans that seek to reduce taxes, manage concentrated wealth, and preserve assets for future generations.
His approach is rooted in a unique combination of accounting, corporate finance, and wealth management experience. Terry began his career with Price Waterhouse in 1992 before serving as Controller for a Memphis-based manufacturing company. He transitioned to financial advising in 1999 becoming a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley, then joined Raymond James in 2012, and became part of the Avenue Wealth team in 2025. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and previously held his CPA license, giving him a strong foundation for helping clients navigate complex financial situations.
A lifelong Memphian, Terry lives in Memphis with his wife, Jessie, and their five children. Away from the office, you’ll often find him spending time with family at Pickwick Lake. Giving back to the community has always been important to him, supporting organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Today, he serves as Treasurer of The Women’s Advocacy Center and has previously served as President of the Wings Cancer Foundation, President of the Fogelman College of Business Alumni Board, and on the National Alumni Board for The University of Memphis.
